Regular Council meeting - December 13, 1920
Whereforth the following action was taken:
1. Resolved that we unanimously recommend to the congregation that the pastor be authorized to ware the robe.
2. That we call a meeting of the congregation to act upon this resolution on the first Sunday in January (2nd)
3. That in order that the congregation may become familiar with the robe and its appearance the pastor is ordered
to ware the robe on Christmas day, the last Sunday in December and the first Sunday in January.
The above action was taken by a standing vote - 23 councilmen being present and it was unanimous. One active member
was not present but he endorsed the action of those present.
Taken from a report of the Virginia Synod Assembly held in Richmond, VA, Oct 11 - 14 1921.
I would call your attention to a few figures. The Virginia Synod showed a net increase of 183 members of which
our church ( Christ, Staunton) has to its credit 92 members net gain. This being more that half of the net increase
of the fifty eight churches composing the Virginia Synod.
Report of committee of Report of Finance Committee
December 7, 1925
Whereas, the request of the U.L.C.
of the Synods and their organizations to make their fiscal Year the same as the calendar year was adopted by the Virginia
Synod. See minutes of 1925, Page 86 and 87 Section 17. It thus becomes the action of the Synod, in order to make our congregational year harmonize with this action
of the Synod, your committee recommends that the council instruct the Pastor to give the following official notice to the
congregation on next Sunday, December 13, 1925:

Evangelical Lutheran Church, Staunton, Virginia, three months after this date, Sunday,
